Michael Todd Yancey, 56, passed away October 30, 2023 in Olympia, WA.

He was born Saturday, June 17, 1967 at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington to Ruth

Ann Norman and Warren G. Yancey.

Michael was raised in Yakima, Washington with his sisters Cary, Tara, Tiffany and late brother Damon.

He briefly moved to Alaska in 1990 for work and travel. He loved fishing, the water, and dreamed of

having a cabin in the woods. After returning to Yakima, he met his first wife Sally and raised their three

children. Their family eventually moved to Aberdeen, and then settled in Lacey, Washington where he

was a long-term resident for over 25 years. He worked various industrial jobs as a cement mason,

window glazier, and custom carpenter. Michael enjoyed a simple life. He was an avid collector of music

and movies. He appreciated his quality time but nothing made him more complete then his family.

Michael was a selfless man, who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He will be

remembered as a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his son Michael Yancey, daughter in-law Monique Yancey, his first wife and lifelong

friend Sally Rocha, and their daughters JoAnna Rocha, Jessica Rocha and their families.

Service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey, Washington on November 18, 2023 at

12:00PM.

The last family owned funeral home in Thurston County.
