Friend, US Army connection Olympia , Washington

At his daughter’s soccer game a few years ago, I met Erik because of his black 1-23 IN baseball cap. We discovered that we served the same brigade at the same time and in Mosul. He later wrote a book about his experience there. Erik excelled as a soldier. We became fast friends. I miss our conversations. I hope/wish that his family and friends remember their fond and good memories of Erik. You made a difference, Erik. Thank you.

I still don't understand this, Eric was such an awesome person, and a great Friend. The first time I met him was on COP Blickenstaff Iraq 2003, he was one of the CRTs for my Company, Comanche 1-23 INF in Mosul and I could always count on them, that's when he truly became a Tomahawk. something we all know is very special and I know he loved being a part of the Tomahawk for life family. Eric's goofy loving caring personality will truly be missed.
