Woodlawn Funeral Home Obituaries

Pamela Elizabeth Coulson , Age: 76
August 07, 1947 - April 03, 2024

Pamela Elizabeth (Biggs) Coulson, 76, peacefully returned home to the Lord on April 3, 2024 surrounded by
the love of her children.

Pamela (Pam) was born August 7, 1947 in San Diego, CA to William Joseph Biggs and Althea Bernice
(Chavis). Pam was the second child born of six children, William (Billy), Pam, Patrick, Brian, Michael and
Theresa (Lanning). At a young age, she became the family matriarch to her siblings. She grew up in El Cajon,
CA and graduated from Grossmont High School in 1964. Pam enrolled in the San Diego College for Medical
and Dental Assistance, graduating as a medical assistant in 1965. Throughout her career she worked in a
medical health clinic, office of Chiropractic, dental office, orthodontic office and Madigan Hospital, medical
records, Joint Base Lewis McCord (JBLM) as a civilian employee, which she retired from in 2018.
In 1965 Pam married Ronald (Ron) Coulson and together they had 4 children. Paula Michelle (Larson-
Sandoz), Robert Ronald, Darcie Anne (Price) and Jeremy John Jay. Throughout their marriage they lived in
various places beginning in Chula Vista, CA where Paula was born in 1966. After Ronald’s service in the US
Navy they moved to La Mesa, CA where Robert was born in 1970. Ronald enrolled in Palmer College of
Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where Darcie was born in 1974. In 1977 the family had moved to Moses
Lake, WA where Jeremy John Jay was born. In 1978 the family moved to Olympia, WA and then to Elma,
WA in 1980 where they spent the next 18 years. Ron and Pam’s marriage came to an end in 1996 and Pam
moved to Lacey, WA 1998.

Pam’s family was priority number one. She immersed herself into homemaking and was known as a very
skilled seamstress making clothing like prom, bridesmaid, and wedding dresses for her daughter’s and
granddaughter. She loved sewing doll and outfits for her children and grandchildren. She prided herself on
making breads from scratch and inventing new recipes that became family favorites. Pam enjoyed canning,
cross stitching, painting, journaling and reading. Most of all, Pam loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. She spent
hours reading and learning from the bible. She loved praying, singing songs of praise and putting her faith in
God to the very end. If you knew, Pam, you knew she loved the Lord and you could feel it from her.
Throughout her lifetime, her magnetic spirit and welcoming beautiful smile drew people to her that would
quickly be adopted into her family. She had a lot of love to give that helped improve the lives of others around
her. As a mother, she was easy to confide in without judgement and always had encouraging words for each of
her children. In her later life she relied more on her children than she would have preferred. However, her
children were more than willing to care for her in return for the love that was so freely given to them. It was an
honor to provide care and comfort for our mother.

She loved all of her family deeply and dearly. Although she is no longer with us physically, she is at peace and
her spirit lives on with the Lord. Our hearts ache with her absence, she will be greatly missed. Love you
forever mom and we’ll see you again!

Pam was preceded in death by her parents William and Althea, brothers, William (Billy), Patrick, Michael and
numerous beloved family members. She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Jeremy (Terra), two
daughters, Paula (Greg Sandoz) and Darcie (Jason Price), sister, Theresa (Scott Lanning) and family, brother,
Brian (Kimberly) and family, nine grandchildren, Brittany (Chris Bjornestad) Bethany (Ulysses Balazategui)
Cameron (Caitlyn McDonald, caregiver & “adopted” granddaughter), Ren and Rea (Coulson), Elizabeth,
Allison and Cole (Price), Blake (Coulson). Seven great grandchildren, Kjerstin, Annalise, Lynnea, Anders,
Brandt (Bjornestad) Celeste and Laurel (Balazategui) and numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great
nephews. She adored us all!

My beautiful Auntie. I know that you felt the love and were surrounded by the ones that loved you the most. The one regret I have is not being able to see you one last time. Haven’t seen you so since I was a little girl. Although I did write you and sent you so many pics 🥰 I love you so much! To my sweet cousins, know that I’m thinking of you all and my heart is with. Love and hugs to you all 🫂❤️

Beautiful Aunt Pam, Others have said it well--your radiant smile, big laugh, and openness toward everyone, among many other amazing traits. You were a huge part of my fondest childhood memories. Thank you for being you and for gracing us with your presence here on earth!
