Caroline Bullinger was born to Karl and Stefania Mangnusson in Grafton, North Dakota on April 10, 1929,

and brought to eternal rest on February 28, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington.

Caroline is survived by: Kathleen Curtiss (Clay), Roger, Paul (Patty), Ross (Teresa), 10 grandchildren, and

17 great-grandchildren.

Caroline is predeceased by her son Neal, and grandson Brian.

Words that describe the testament of Caroline’s life were service and love. That journey started when

Caroline met her true love Lyle at the University of North Dakota’s first football game of the season.

Caroline went on to receive a bachelor’s in chemistry. Soon after graduating, Caroline and Lyle were

married at Gardar Lutheran Church in Gardar, North Dakota on September 9, 1950. They celebrated 73

years of marriage in 2023. Lyle joined her in paradise on March 8, 2024.

Caroline was a homemaker. She sewed many wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses for young brides

and their party. Her gift of hooded baby towels was a favorite of new mothers. She crocheted afghans

and potholders. But she was most famous for her pies.

Her and Lyle were a faith-oriented family, they hosted small group meetings in their home for years.

The Bullinger’s gift was their hospitality. They opened their home to missionaries from many countries

and young adults who needed a loving home.

Together they traveled the world seeing beautiful places such as The Great Wall of China, Israel,

Australia, and the Fiji Islands.

Their unconditional love was evident in all they did for family and friends. A testament of true love.

The family would like to thank those that helped Caroline and Lyle: Chuck and Diane Schmeckpeper,

Caroline’s niece, Susie Paul and her husband Lonnie, Amy and Brandon Stillman, Mike and Bree

Bullinger, and Sue Stroop. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
