Paul Duane Catterson, 61, of Lacey, Washington, passed away on January 9, 2024 of a heart attack. He was born on February 23, 1962, in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Aberdeen, Washington. Paul was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Intelligent, quick-witted, and funny, he was known for his vast knowledge and his ability to make others laugh. Paul had a passion for learning and was always eager to share his wisdom with those around him. He also had a deep love for his dogs.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Deliese, his daughter Elizabeth, and his mother Kathy. He was preceded in death by his father, Duane. 

Paul graduated from JM Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen in 1981. Paul pursued higher education at Western Washington University, earning his bachelor's degree in history. After college Paul joined the Army and was able to be stationed across the US. His last station was Ft. Carson, Colorado where he met his wife Deliese. After he left the military he went back to school to get his Registered Nursing degree. For almost 30 years, Paul worked as a nurse, finding his calling in hospice care. He touched the lives of countless patients and their families with his compassion and dedication.

In his free time, Paul enjoyed hunting, reading, taking Disney trips with his family, working in his yard, and cooking. He could often be found spending time chatting with his neighbors and friends. 

A memorial service to honor Paul's life will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27th at 1 PM.
