Darren Melvin Evans II, 33, passed away on December 10th, 2023. He was born on June 8th, 1990, to Darren Evans I and the late Leona Bolieu, in Olympia, Wa. Darren, also known as Mell, is survived by his father, Darren Evans I, his grandmother Jean Howell, and his sisters Holly Allen, Andrea Evans, and Stephanie Sullivan. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

 

During his life Mell touched the hearts of many with his warm spirit and unwavering kindness. He was a dedicated student who pursued a Business degree with a bookkeeping certificate. His commitment to academic excellence was evident as he made the Dean's list at the college, showcasing his diligence and passion for learning. 

 

Mell’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, but his memory will forever be cherished.

 

A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on January 5th 2024 at WoodLawn Funeral Home at 11:00 am.

 

Darren Melvin Evans II will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.

Darren was one of my closest friends. He had an infectious laugh. He was a big dreamer. In his heart Nothing was limited. He would think of ways that no one else would. He without a doubt loved life. I was blessed to know him. There is a huge hole in our lives with him gone. I miss you Darren.

Darren, It's not fare that you were taken from us lime this. Too soon in life. I miss your wise words because you always knew exactly what to say when I needed your help. I miss your spontaneity. You were always the first who was willing to go on a simple midnight adventure or a day trip a few hours away. I miss your hugs, whether they were for a happy reason or a sad one, hugs always made everything better. I miss your selflessness, always willing to drop everything in your life to help someone who was important to you. I miss talking to you about important things, but also the most obscure topics we could think of. I miss your heart because not only were you selfless, but you were generous, kind, and loving to all of those around you. But most of all, I just miss you. Dealing with death is never easy and everyone deals with it differently, but I certainly have had a hard time coming to terms with yours. I never thought that would be something I would have to face, but it is and I have to find some way to accept it, if I ever can. I have so many questions that I will never get the answer to. Why you? Why now? Are you safe? Are you at peace? I so badly want the answers to these because it just doesn't make sense to me that you are gone. I keep expecting you to call me and tell me it was all some sort of sick joke, but you are alive and well. But I know deep down that's not how this is going to work. I think most of all I want you to know You helped me when I needed it and I am forever grateful for that. I truly hope that everyone gets to experience a friend like you. I wish I would have the opportunity to tell you that more. I wish I could've stopped this from happening. I keep going through everything in my head trying to think of ways I could've prevented this from happening, but I know I couldn't have. I wish I had the superpower to turn back time just so I can get one more opportunity to talk to you, tell you everything we all love about you, and tell you how much I appreciate you. You were, and still are, so loved by many. Even though you are not here anymore, you will always be in my heart. You were such a special person and I hope you still know that. I miss you.
