Felix Richard Varnell passed away on 10/3/2023 and is now at peace.

Richard, a United State Marine, served our country in Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged in 1967.

During his time of service, he was awarded a Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense

Medal and Good conduct Medal.

As a Veteran, Richard enjoyed gardening, camping and visiting with friends. He had a very special gift of

bringing joy in the holiday season by playing Santa for the children.

Richard was loved and will be missed by many. Rest in Peace.

I enjoyed my visits with Richard. The stories, the day to day challenges and joys. One of my favorite memories of him, there are many, is: he would come into my office, ready to take his "walk" His pockets full of doggie biscuits. He would go around Capital Lake, he knew all the "regulars" (dogs that is) He did not know the human names, but did know dogs names and their preferences. It made his day, and hearing him talk about these dog visits made mine. I am sure you are spending a lot of time at the rainbow bridge, whatever you choose, choose peace. Rest in peace my friend, always in my heart.
