June 24, 1933 - July 14, 2023

In Loving Memory of Allen Sidney Mager

June 24th, 1933 - July 14, 2023

Allen S Mager, born in the serene town of Redfield, South Dakota, on June 24th, 1933,
embarked on his final journey on July 14, 2023, in Olympia, Washington.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Marjorie Lettie (Hughes) Mager, and joins his mother,
Mildred (Mager) Ferguson, brothers Richard Ferguson, Ray Ferguson, Roy Ferguson, and sister
Roxanne Ferguson.

Allen's memory lives on in the hearts of his sister, Beverly (Ferguson) Jensen, and his sons,
Michael Mager and Mark Mager, alongside his wife, Bobbie jo. His grandchildren, Morgan
Mager with her husband Lawton, Jacob Mager with his wife Reid and Alexander Mager brought
him profound joy.

Allen's life was marked by his honorable service to his country. Drafted into the US Army in
1953, he served two years in active duty and eight years in the Army Reserves. It was during
this time that he discovered the Pacific Northwest while stationed at Fort Lewis. It was also
there that he met the love of his life, and together they established their home in Tumwater,
where they raised their family.

For over three decades, Allen dedicated himself to the Continental Can Company, later Crown
Cork & Seal. Hired in 1959 when they were still constructing their new Olympia plant. He
worked as a millwright and was one of the best, retiring in 1990.

Allen will forever be remembered as a devoted family man and a trusted friend to many. His
passion for hunting and hiking through the hills of Washington brought him immense joy. He
was also an avid collector, always on the hunt for unique treasures and bargains. He had a
warm and welcoming spirit, always ready to engage in meaningful conversations with friends,
family, or even those he had just met. His ability to connect with people and his willingness to
lend a hand on any project, no matter how big or small, left a lasting impact on those fortunate
enough to know him.

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 5930 Mullen Road Southeast,
Lacey, WA on October 13, 2023, at 2:30 PM. The family will announce a celebration of life at a
later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider donating to
woundedwarriorproject.org in honor of Allen's commitment to his country or the charity of
your choice.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him, and may he rest in eternal
peace.
