ROBERT (BOB) VANE HEDGCOCK

11/21/1945 – 7/3/2023

Bob was born in Seattle WA on November 21, 1945 to Marshall and Elizabeth Hedgcock. He grew up on

Beacon Hill and lived most of his life in Seattle. He passed following a long illness. He is survived by his

wife of 50 years, Joline Hedgcock (Studley) and was preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Ann

Hedgcock in 2005.

Bob graduated from Cleveland High School in 1964. He attended WSU and joined the Phi Kappa

fraternity. Bob served in the Army in Vietnam from 1967-69. He worked in warehouses most of his life

two being Associated Grocers and Pacific Rim Imports, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He

was a long time member of Assumption Parish.

Bob loved to read, play pinochle, and take road trips. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, a kid at

heart with the fireworks. He loved his country and was very patriotic. Bob was always ready for a casino

trip.

It was amazing the trivia and seemingly unimportant facts that Bob knew. If you wanted to know

something obscure, you would ask 'factoid Bob' and he would know. If you wanted to know the best

way to get from A to Z, he would know without looking at a map or using GPS! He was interested in all

things, how they worked, what they did and how they were used.

Bob is survived by his 3 sisters: Marian Wolfe, Martha Cantwell and Mary Hedgcock, brothers- in- law

Leo Wolfe and Patrick Cantwell; 6 nieces and nephews: David, Carolyn, and Steven Kurle; Sarah Soares,

Deborah Quinn and Paul Wolfe and 10 grand nieces and nephews: Isabel and Marshall Kurle; Jeremiah

Kurle-Marcotte; Dayton, Hubbel, and Jackie Kurle; Miguel and Mariana Soares; Olivia and Emily Quinn.

He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on October 14, 2023 at 11 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church,

7000 35th Ave SW. Seattle followed by a reception.

Memorials may be sent to your local Humane Society.
