Diane Lea Martin , Age: 76

Diane Lea Martin, 75, of Olympia, Wa passed away on July 4 th 2023, after a valiant
battle with cancer.
 
Diane was born on August 29 th , 1946 to Stan and Margaret Erickson in Morton,
Washington.  After graduating from White Pass High School in 1964, she went on to
study sociology at the University of Washington.
 
In 1963 she met Thomas Haney Martin at White Pass High School and was wed on
October 29 th , 1967 in Morton Washington.  Tom and Diane went on to have two children,
Marcie and Brad.
 
While supporting and raising her family she found time to work at an assisted living
facility and oversee the building of a 35 space mobile home park, that she then ran up
till 2022.
 
Always the light in the room, Diane brought a calm grace coupled with a strong sense of
competition to any situation.  She was proudest of her family and was always there to
lend a word or helping hand of support.
Diane loved boating and spent many summers cruising the Puget Sound and inland
waters to Alaska.  She also loved traveling, exploring many different countries with her
husband Tom.  Diane's favorite place to travel was the British Virgin Islands, on a boat,
which she and Tom visited many times, with family and friends.  In 2017  Diane began
drag racing a sporty green vintage inliner race car, which she enjoyed doing with her
husband as the Pit Man. 
Her love of boating, traveling, racing and spending time with the ones she cherished
was unparalleled.
 
Diane is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband Tom Martin, her
two brothers Roger Erickson and Kenny Erickson; her two children, Marcie Pittman
(Paul Pittman) and Brad Martin (Tiffaney Martin); and her 4 grandchildren, Makenna
Pittman, Mason Pittman,  Kaden Martin and Siene Martin.
