In Loving Memory: Donald Richard St. George

Donald (Don) St. George, a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather, passed away on June 8,
2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and a life well-lived. Don's departure has left a
void in the hearts of his beloved wife, daughters, and family, who will forever cherish his memory.
Born to Juliette and John St. George on January 25, 1946, Don grew up in Yakima, Washington, where
he learned the values of hard work, integrity, and simplicity. He lived a life guided by these principles,
finding joy and contentment in the little things.
Don was a proud member of the United States Air Force, where he served his country with honor and
dedication during the Vietnam War. He faithfully fulfilled his duties while stationed in England and Turkey
for his four-year military service.
Outside of his professional and family life, Don found joy in his hobby as a member of the Apple Valley
Model A Club. He enjoyed the beauty of vintage automobiles and the camaraderie shared among fellow
enthusiasts. Don’s passion for restoring and cherishing these classic cars brought him immense
happiness and fulfillment.
In 1973, Don embarked on a beautiful journey of love and companionship when he married Susan. They
soon realized they wanted to spend their lives together and start a family. Their union was one of
unwavering support, shared dreams, and lasting commitment. Together, they created a home filled with
love, laughter, and cherished memories that lasted for over fifty years.
Don’s greatest pride and joy were his daughters: Linda Tilson (spouse, Jerry; children, Rachel, Bradley,
and Nathan), Denise Hammer (spouse, Randy; children, Caelyn and Jonah), and Elizabeth Brender
(child, Jasper). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea. He was a devoted father who
provided guidance, love, and support to his children throughout their lives. Don's wisdom, strength, and
unwavering presence will forever remain etched in their hearts.
Don embraced the simplicity of life, finding joy in the little moments that often go unnoticed. Whether it
was spending time with family, enjoying a quiet afternoon reading or completing puzzles, he found
contentment. One of his favorite places to visit was Cannon Beach, Oregon. He spent many hours
walking on the beach and listening to the sounds of the ocean. Don's ability to appreciate life's subtleties
served as a reminder to us all to cherish the beauty in everyday moments.
As we mourn the loss of Don, we find solace in the memories we shared and the impact he had on our
lives. We will forever remember his unwavering love, quiet strength, and dedication to family and friends.
Don's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the values he instilled in those who were
fortunate enough to know him.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Donald St. George will be held on June 21, 2023, at
2pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey, Washington. Family, friends, and all who he touched by his
kindness, are invited to pay their respects, and join in celebrating his remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Don’s memory to the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Society: https://lls.org. Contributions made in his honor will continue to make a positive
impact on the lives of others.
May Donald Richard St. George's soul find eternal peace and may his memory forever be a source of
comfort and inspiration. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Don, knowing that
your love and legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew you.
