Sondra Forsyth passed away in her home at the age of 80, on Friday June 9, 2023, from a cardiac event.
Mary Sondra Forsyth was born to Geraldine Green and Raymond Forsyth on January 14, 1943 in Wayne County, Michigan.
Elegant, spirited, kind, classy and beautiful are just a few words to describe our mother, who had a remarkable gift for words.
Sondra touched many lives across decades in the fields of dance and writing. She trained generations of young ballet dancers, mentored countless editors, and inspired readers in the books she authored.

An influencer before the term was commonly used, Sondra traveled the world in her early years and continued meaningful relationships with her friends and family in her widespread virtual connections, in her later years.

Sondra is survived by her son, Christopher Forsyth Enos and her daughter, Stacey Forsyth Mahan.

Her wishes were to be cremated. We look forward to celebrating her life at the following events.

Fall of 2023 in New York City: Details to be determined. We would love to celebrate her life with friends and family on the East coast. Sondra stated that she would like some of her ashes scattered on Broadway.

Final Resting Place: Sondra’s desire for her final resting place is the Orchard Lake Presbyterian Church, where her parents are buried.
