Ted E. Baker , Age: 84

December 14, 1938 - December 24, 2022

Ted Eugene Baker, age 84, passed away December 24, 2022, in Olympia, WA, due to
complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Ted was born on December 14, 1938, in Anderson, Indiana. His parents were James L. and Bernadine

(Bright) Baker. He spent most of his childhood in Arizona. Ted graduated from El Camino High School in Sacramento, CA, and attended the College of the Pacific on a swimming scholarship where he played on the water polo team.He also served in the US Navy Reserves.

Ted married Barbara (Bobbi) Lee Skok in 1963. They had three children, Ted Jr, Leslie, and Tracey. Ted worked for
Wells Fargo in Arizona and California before moving to Brady, WA, in 1974 to live and workon the family ranch. They later divorced.

Ted moved to Olympia, WA, and went to work for the Thurston County Title Company. He married

Sandra (Leetham) Tagman in 1987. He later worked for Virgil Adams Real Estate and eventually started

his own company, Baker Resource Group, where he worked as a Timber and Land Broker.

Ted was an avid swimmer, longtime member of The Valley Athletic Club, an original member of the

Men’s Club at St. Michael’s Parish, and a weekly volunteer feeding the homeless in the Olympia area. He

and Sandi enjoyed boating, traveling to Hawaii, frequent trips to the Oregon Coast, and cheering for the

Seahawks. Ted enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren;

watching them play sports and attending their activities. He was often asked to make his famous BBQ

chicken for special occasions and loved making some of his favorite recipes passed down from his mom.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandi Baker; brother,

Robert Baker; children, Ted Baker Jr (Sheila), Leslie Russell (Brad), and Tracey Baker;

stepchildren, Patrick Tagman (Lisa), Julie Yoney (Thomas), and Matthew Tagman (Jessica);

grandchildren, Brandon Baker (Korysa), Megan Heinrich (Allen), Tyler Fry (Molly), Zackary Harper

(Hanna), Austin Baker (Brooke), Alexis Boyer (Luke), Devyn Van Dam (Travis), Bobbi Lewis (Zach),

Riley Harper, Carli Cairone, and Michael Tagman; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1208 11th Ave SE, Olympia, WA, at Noon

on January 20, 2023, with light refreshments to follow. Arrangements are being made by Woodlawn

Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Michaels Church.
