Woodlawn Funeral Home Obituaries

Raymond Leo Bell, Jr. , Age: 79
April 25, 1943 - June 18, 2022

Raymond Leo Bell, Jr. was born on April 25th, 1943 to Raymond Leo Bell, Sr. and Josephine M. Regenold Bell in Mobridge, South Dakota. The eighth and last child born to the Bell family and the only one to be born in a hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his seven siblings: Lorraine Allean Bell, Elaine Arleen Bell, Keith Willis Bell, Loretta Josephine (Bell) Harris, Eldon LaVerne Bell, Berton Michael Bell, and Baby Junior Bell.

Raymond graduated from Mobridge High School in 1960. He was taught well of how to work in the farm he grew up on. His dad had a house moving business and a farm. He would later put these skills to work throughout his life. He worked during the summers in Washington state with his older brother, Keith, on his dairy farm while they were visiting in the South Dakotas and working for both his older brothers, Keith and Eldon, in building homes and farming. In the Fall, Winter, and Spring Raymond would go to college at Western Baptist Bible College in El Cerrito, CA from 1963 to 1967. He married Rita Mae Bronson on the 11th of February 1967. In 1969 they moved to Olympia, WA to work with his brothers. He and Rita had three beautiful children.

He eventually started his own business building homes, then later becoming a House Mover. He became interested in Constitutional Law and spent many years studying and working in the field to bring it back to the center. We may not have understood the purposes, but we are seeing far more influence of the Constitution and its importance and proper use of the balances of power in our country.

Raymond was very proud of his Heritage, having visited many of the sites of our ancestors: Scots, Irish, and German to list a few. More than 10 generations.

He leaves behind his three children; Sandra Faye (Kevin) Sokolowski, Sr., Tamra Rae (Caleb) Sturdivant, and Steven Edward Bell; six grandchildren, Tim Graham, Kevin Sokolowski, Jr., Samantha (Logan) Hawk, Levi Sturdivant, Grace (Joshua) Warkentin, and Tyler Bell; four great grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews; plus other relatives and friends, whom he loved.
