Randall E Gregg age 72, on May 4, 2023, lost his year- long battle with Pancreatic

Cancer. His peace came surrounded by his loving family at Capital MultiCare

Medical Center in Olympia, WA.

Randall (Randy) was born on January 7, 1951 to Raymond E. Gregg and Elnora L.

(Seifried) Gregg in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South

High School in Overland Park, KS in 1969. Randy attended the University of

Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Economics in

1975. He also worked on his master’s degree in economics/Computer

Science/Remote Sensing at the University of Nebraska, Omaha.

Randy married Cheri (Crippen) Gregg in 1975 whom he said he fell in love with at

first sight. Ryan Edward Gregg was born to this union in 1981.

Randy started his career as an economist at Upland Industries in Omaha, NE. He

also held economist positions at Rocky Mountain Energy in Broomfield, CO. and

NERCO Oil and Gas in Portland, OR. Randy always had a love for computer

science especially promoting Personal computers. He then held positions at

Spectrum Technology, Holliston, MA, Security Benefit, Topeka, KS and was Chief

Information Officer for the Department of Commerce at the State of Kansas

before retiring to Lynnwood, WA in 2012.

Randy loved to help others. He always volunteered to help anyone that had

questions about their computer. He loved all kinds of music, his electric vehicle,

science fiction, movies, and travel. He was always motivated to learn. As Ryan

said, “Dad taught me there is nothing that you can’t try to solve or do”.

Survivors are his wife Cheri of Lacey, WA; His son Ryan (Krista) Gregg of Seattle

and his beloved Granddaughter. His brother Winfred (Jan Broyles) Gregg of

Overland Park, KS and a host of relations and friends. He was preceded in death

by his parents, Raymond and Elnora Gregg, his grandparents Seifried and Gregg.

A casual gathering will be held at 9011 36 th Ct SE Lacey, WA. (Ovation at Oaktree)

to commemorate Randall’s life on June 3, 2023, from 2-4. Please join the family

to share your memories. Another celebration of life will be held later in the

summer for family and friends in Topeka, KS (time and location to be announced).
