The last family owned funeral home in Thurston County.

Master Sergeant (Retired) Anthony Rivas, age 83 passed away at home on 03/30/2022.

Anthony was born on September 30, 1938 in Manhattan, New York to Victoria and Antonio Rivas.

He grew up in Bronx, New York and attended Morris High School. After high school, Anthony joined the US Airforce.

Anthony met Florentina Vega in 1961 and they were married in 1962.

After 25 years in the service, Anthony retired from the US Airforce from his last duty station at McChord AFB.

He later attended Clover Park Technical College where he received his professional photographer certification.  

Tony went on to work at Fort Lewis at the arts and crafts shop. He was a photography instructor and photographer.

He retired from the Fort Lewis after 20 years.

Anthony is survived by his wife Florentina and his daughters Mary Ann and Michelle Rivas.

Tony was a good and loving husband and father. He was also a kind and good friend to many.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or a military/veterans charity of your choice.
